I continue my experimentation with wood as a medium with my series of fantasy swords. Pushing my design to a high level of detail and precision, even before I pick up a paintbrush.
Each sword was designed digitally in order to be processed by a laser, cutting the design from a pine board.
Here, I had to be mindful of sharp angles and impeccable precision to ensure the laser would be able to navigate my design and interact as expected with the wood. The cutouts are then sanded and prepped to paint before I threaded a curated piece of faux suede to my finished piece.
