I believe important to attempt the discomfort to create something new. My path most travelled isn’t work focused on line expression, therefore it was important to take the challenge.
Studying my references, I noticed the subtle lines and movement in the cliffside of the canyons. I am no scientist, but I can observe layers of sediment and deterioration that formed the raw material, which I brought into my impression of the subject.
Realism isn’t always the goal of art, but often to picture the world as we perceive it.
